Across the province, registered collectors—including municipalities, First Nations and Métis Settlements, waste authorities, and commissions—play a vital role in Alberta’s recycling efforts. At ARMA, we’re proud to support these front-line partners with tools, training, and funding to make recycling more accessible and effective for all Albertans.
Beyond-the-Bin Recycling Roundup Grant
Formerly known as the Municipal Recycling Roundup Grant, this funding program helps cover costs related to hosting a Recycling Roundup event. Eligible expenses include advertising, logistics, and fees for collecting electronics and paint materials.
This matching grant supports communities in creating convenient local recycling opportunities. Applications are accepted year-round.
Used Oil Materials Support Grant
This grant supports the safe collection and storage of used oil, oil filters, and empty oil containers at landfills, transfer stations, and recycling depots. By improving infrastructure and access, we’re making it easier for sites to handle these materials responsibly.
The current application window is open until May 30, 2025, with additional opportunities available throughout the year.

Tire-derived aggregate (TDA) is made from mechanically shredded scrap tires and used primarily as a drainage material in landfill construction. It’s a sustainable, cost-effective alternative to non-renewable rock.
ARMA covers 100% of the production cost of TDA and part of the delivery cost to your landfill site. Sites can order TDA up to three years in advance of landfill cell construction, offering long-term savings and planning flexibility.
