Free PPP recycling collection coming soon for Alberta multi-family dwelling owners and managers

Alberta apartment and condo owners and managers are eligible to register for free PPP recycling collection services with Circular Materials. 
  

How the program works  

Multi-family dwelling property owners and managers who are interested in recycling services can register via the online registry, which opened on June 26, 2025. The deadline for registration is October 1, 2025. Registered properties will receive PPP recycling collection at no cost beginning October 1, 2026.  

 

Who is eligible

A multi-unit building or building complex may qualify if it is not currently receiving residential PPP (paper, plastic, and packaging) recycling services provided by its municipality (e.g., town, city, village, or municipal district). Eligibility scenarios include:

  • The community is registered with ARMA for EPR.
  • The building is already receiving garbage collection.
  • Recycling services are provided by private contractors instead of the municipality.
  • No recycling services are provided at all.
  • Recycling services are organized and paid for by a condominium board, HOA (Home Owners Association), or apartment building owner, rather than through the municipality.
