The Government of Alberta is improving the province’s approach to waste management
Bill 83 was introduced in the legislature on Monday November 15, 2021 that could open the door for an extended producer responsibility (EPR) framework in Alberta in the spring of 2022.
“This framework will help ARMA and our partners do even more to reduce waste and make our province a more attractive place for investors with a cleaner environment. Thank you Honorable Jason Nixon, Minister of Environment and Parks, Government House Leader and Mr. Searle Turton, MLA for Spruce Grove-Stony Plain for your vision and leadership.”
Ed Gugenheimer, CEO, ARMA
Albertans can review the “What We Heard” document summarizing previous stakeholder feedback on EPR and are invited to provide additional input by December 15, 2021 through the Extended Producer Responsibility Engagement.
