Used Oil Recycling Program - Update Aug 2018

August 29, 2018

Planning for Used Oil Materials Recycling Program Transfer Continues

The October 1 transfer of the used oil materials recycling program from the Alberta Used Oil Management Association (AUOMA) to the Alberta Recycling Management Authority (Alberta Recycling) is quickly approaching. Alberta Recycling will become responsible for managing and administering the program, in addition to Alberta’s electronics, paint, and tire recycling programs.

Alberta Recycling has been working collaboratively with AUOMA over the past few months to ensure a smooth transition. The used oil materials recycling program will continue virtually unchanged during the transition and implementation process.

Used oil materials will continue to be accepted at the approximately 230 drop-off locations across Alberta. The locations can be found on AUOMA’s website until October 1 and on this website after that date.

Alberta Recycling is excited to have the used oil materials recycling program join our other three programs and we look forward to working with the oil industry and Albertans to continue to grow an already successful program.

Check for updates on the used oil materials recycling program transfer on our website as they become available. If you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected].
