Alberta Recycling Welcomes Used Oil Materials Program
The transfer of the Alberta Used Oil Materials Recycling Program (the Program) from the Alberta Used Oil Management Association (AUOMA) to the Alberta Recycling Management Authority (Alberta Recycling) is now complete.
Alberta Recycling worked closely with AUOMA during the 10-month transition and appreciates the knowledge, cooperation and support they provided to ensure a seamless transition for all stakeholders. We look forward to continuing to build upon the strong foundation established for the Program.
Used oil materials will continue to be accepted at the approximately 230 drop-off locations across Alberta. Click here to find a drop-off location near you.
To ensure effective industry input and involvement, Alberta Recycling has established the Used Oil Recycling Alberta Industry Council. The Industry Council consists of five former AUOMA Board members who will bring continuity and their collective expertise to the council.
The Industry Council will review and make recommendations on all major aspects of the Program, from the business plan and budget to Program performance and improvements. Industry Councils continually demonstrate their value in their role with the Electronics, Paint and Tire Recycling Programs that Alberta Recycling manages, and will bring the same benefits to the Used Oil Program.
Alberta Recycling looks forward to working with the used oil industry and all Albertans to continue to grow an already successful Used Oil Materials Recycling Program.
