Helping out in the community

Tire recycling is good for the environment, but it also benefits Albertans directly and opportunities for Alberta communities to benefit from recycled scrap tire products continue to grow.

Enhancement projects like playgrounds, parks, buildings, walkways and arenas that incorporate recycled tire products, bring tire recycling full-circle and help give back to community groups for supporting the tire recycling program.

Past projects

Thanks in large measure to the involvement of municipalities, scrap tire recycling in Alberta is a growing success.  Close to 58 million tires have been removed from landfills and tire retailers throughout Alberta, and recycled into a growing number of valuable uses and products. Many of these recycled tire products are incorporated into community enhancement projects.
