Making it easy for Albertans and Alberta's Municipalities

Albertans are embracing electronics recycling as an effective way to keep their unwanted TVs and computer components out of landfills with over 72,000 electronic components being collected and recycled each month. E-waste roundups provide Albertans the opportunity to safely and properly recycle their old electronics, while providing municipalities with an incentive for collection of these components.

E-Waste Roundups are an important element of municipal environmental programs

During this program, which will run throughout 2010, municipal roundups will accept the following electronics at no charge for recycling:

  • TVs
  • Computers
  • Servers
  • Laptops and notebook computers
  • Keyboards
  • Speakers
  • Mice
  • Computer cables
  • Printers/printer combinations

Joint E-waste and HHW Roundups

Even though this funding support is provided to collect electronics, Alberta Recycling strongly encourages communities to create a joint collection event and include paint and HHW.

For a listing of eligible paints, see our Paint Program page

Information on HHW roundups is available from Alberta Environment
